Sagarmatha Sambaad to feature five thematic sessions

 

By A Staff Reporter,Kathmandu, Mar. 17: The much-awaited Sagarmatha Sambaad (dialogue) is just 60 days away, and the government is actively preparing to organise the event successfully.

Amid its hectic activities, the Sagarmatha Sambaad Secretariat held a press conference on Sunday, providing updates on the preparations for the Sambaad scheduled to take place in Kathmandu from May 16 to 18.

While informing the press, Dr. Maheshwar Dhakal, Joint Secretary and Member Secretary of the Secretariat, said that the Sagarmatha Sambaad will serve as a multi-stakeholder and cross-sectoral forum, bringing together a diverse range of global leaders.

The event is expected to attract heads of state/government, ministers, parliamentarians, policymakers, academics, experts, media representatives, business community, civil society, youth and individuals directly affected by the issues being discussed. In addition, delegates will include foreign dignitaries, heads/representatives of UN agencies, international organizations (IOs), international financial institutions (IFIs), regional bodies, scientists, academicians, national and international media, I/NGO representatives, civil society members, celebrities and other prominent figures.
